Our recent or current organizational initiatives
KDUnion California adopted Murray Town in October 2024 and identified Murray Town School as a flagship project, with current work focused on paving key sections of the school grounds to improve daily conditions. It also fully funded an elementary school on the outskirts of Freetown that provides free education to children from vulnerable families who might otherwise be unable to attend school.
KDUnion California members are always ready to step forward in times of crisis, putting Krio values of fellowship, generosity, and service into action. Through support to a church in Altadena serving fire victims, the organization demonstrated its commitment to helping Californians in need and standing with local communities during moments of hardship.
KDUnion California organized a blanket drive benefiting the Long Beach Rescue Mission and a transitional housing facility in Inglewood. The effort provided practical help, warmth, and comfort to people facing difficult circumstances during cold weather.
In partnership with local health clinics, KDUnion California sponsored community outreach days in rural areas of Freetown that provided wellness checkups and basic preventive services. These efforts expanded access to frontline care for underserved residents and promoted earlier connection to local health services
